I got my PGDCA certificate on 24/04..  Actually I had missed the last date of submission for convocation form. I sent the form almost 1 month after the date with letter stating the postal delay .... good that you mentioned it... and its true about the ignou staff...  sometimes they dont even understand plain n proper language, not too tell if we make mistakes too :)

Ya...normally I don't point errors due to the informal nature of the discussions made here. But since it has been mentioned in two posts and maybe while communicating with IGNOU people over phone this might result in some confusion, I pointed it out. I know the member already knows it but during telephone conversation and also during interviews such words could create a momentary confusion.

:) nice of you to have brought into notice tht grammatical error.  but on a different note, i feel the member could have felt he can be a bit more careless n informal in a forum like this. may be ppl wont make such mistakes when communicating with the university.  any way, good that you pointed out so that others can be careful :)

Convocation is the ceremony during which one receives a certificate.

when it comes to ignou, no one can give a sure answer to a "when" question...  only thing you can do is to wait, n keep on trying if you can do that all day long... thats what i did...  dedicated 4 full days to dialing to ignou. wish i had a better solution to tell u :(

But you are right...although we have many numbers of IGNOU, it would be better if we could have a topic on contact numbers through which IGNOU responds well (as per student experience). The only problem is maintaining that topic. Usually members post these numbers in connection with other discussions. Somehow, that post has to be copied to the new topic or we can simply quote a post by a member and post ourselves. Let me try the first option....which can be done in a roundabout manner.

i too had some confusions regarding the convocation...  after four days of  calling -not getting a response - calling -getting the engaged tone -calling -getting the answer tht the responsible person is not at her seat -calling - listening to full ring and no one picking up etc etc... but still, after four days of continuous calling i got some one online who told me by word of mouth tht everything is fine..  still i wasnt sure of it coz there was no proof to the answer i got, he himself had told me he is not the person in charge...  but thankfully, things all turned out to be fine...  unfortunately thats how ignous response system works... but finally, it all usually tuns out fine.
